Optimum Health

By Teresa R. Laurente

Just very recently, so many teachings have come across the subject matter on our connectivity with the earth. That; our health affects the environment surrounding us. This goes to say that whatever we inhale and exhale affects our whole body system as it affects nature. Thus, currently, governments all over the world strive to work together in making the whole ecosystem back to its par as much as possible. We are campaigning about going “Green.” Simply because whatever we do on earth greatly affects the atmosphere, the Earth surface, the ozone layer that protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays.

I am neither a scientist nor a medical professional, but one way or the other we know what these all means. To sum it up; the abundant minerals from our soil have been depleted that its produce, the food that we eat are mostly absent of minerals such as; iron, zinc, selenium, magnesium and such that are essential to our immune system. And, without these important minerals in our body as the medical professionals have professed; can contribute to other forms of diseases like; heart disease and other systemic disorders in our body. Not only these; we inhale substances from the environment that are not helpful to our body. A lot of times, our water is contaminated as well as our food, when chemicals are added in them just so for purposes of sanitation and health reasons. A double sword edge, I say.

With this in mind; I would like to begin and share a journey with you the world of cleansing; the natural way. It begins simply by drinking water. And, to elaborate such journey would be; to consume juiced fruits and vegetables, drinking 3-4 cups of Green Tea daily, eating whole grain foods, and many other healthful processes we could think of. For having a clean stomach, starts the journey of health. Don’t you agree? And, I add that, we then have to be careful what we replenish back into our clean stomach. We need to choose the healthy food instead of fatty animal food, processed food, and artificial food flavoring, etc., etc., etc.

We then, continue the cleansing process with food rich in fibers, vitamins, and minerals. Go organic by having pot gardening for easy to care vegetables.

As the health gurus would recommend us now to go back to Eden. By this they meant, going back to nature. There was a study conducted not too long ago by medical teams in England. They gathered 15 people who have alarming medical problems such as elevated sugar, cholesterol, and high blood pressure. They placed them all together with the animals in a safari zoo for 15 days and consumed nothing but fresh vegetables and fruits. After 15 days, their body reading came back to normal again, in just 15 days. So, it has been proven.

Also, avoid the SAD diet; the Standard American Diet consisting of high refined carbohydrates (basically high in sugar), saturated and trans-fatty acid, and animal protein. Food that are loaded with artificial sweeteners, dyes, and preservatives from fast foods, frozen products, and skipping meals altogether for the sake of losing weight.

But instead, to consume the 3 families of fatty acids which are: Omega3, Omega6, and Omega9 from fish, flaxseeds, walnuts, green leafy vegetables, and canola oil. Doctors insist to consume such as these fatty acids are important for our body to function properly and that our body does not manufacture such and can only be obtained through the diet. What are they essential for? Doctors recommend that fatty acids are needed for cells to carry out the normal function of the body for brain and retina development, balanced mood, hormone synthesis, regulation of pain and inflammation, immune function, proper circulation, kidney function, nerve transmission, energy production, skin, nail, and hair health. And deficiency of such is the culprit of Arthritis, Asthma, ADD, CVD (heart attack, stroke), Cancer, Depression, Dry Skin, Diabetes, Eczema, Fatigue, Hair Loss, Hypertension, Lupus, Memory Problems, and Schizophrenia. (Balch, Stengler, 2004)

All these do not pertain to adults only. Children must be taught how to live a healthy lifestyle. To be active and make exercise a part of the daily regimen next to food and sleep. These are the ideal journey implemented by doctors today to fight the raging cost of medication and insurance issues. A study show that, even patient prescribed with diabetic medications and did not follow exercise regimen, did not have effective results in helping to ease down the disease. So, exercise really is a big part of the whole equation of being healthy.

Here is some food for the soul to make the whole thing complete. To be at peace and healthy as well.

Take time

from Litho in Italy

Take time to think, it is the source of power.

Take time to play, it is the secret of perpetual youth.

Take time to read, it is the fountain of wisdom.

Take time to pray, it is the greatest power on earth.

Take time to love, and be loved, It is a God-given privilege.

Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness.

Take time to laugh, it is the mujsic of the soul.

Take time to give, it is too short a day to be selfish.

Take time to work, it is the price of success.

Take time to do charity, it is the key to heaven.
